KICKSTARTER | FUND A PROJECT
Kickstarter.com allows people to pitch their creative projects and allows friends, fans and total strangers to contribute money and raise funds on the site. Once you’re signed up with a project, you can post a video, photos and/or information to get people excited about your idea. There are lots of great initiatives on the site, as well as successfully funded projects, from those that met their $500 target to others that surpassed their $65,000 goal and raised more than $80,000!

Kickstarter is a new form of commerce and patronage, not a place for investment or lending. Project creators inspire people to open their wallets by offering products, benefits and fun experiences. The project categories include, but are not limited to, Art, Photography, Design, Film and Theatre. Keep in mind that the site is still in Beta and the ability to start projects is limited. You need to have a US bank account and address, but anyone from anywhere can pledge money.
Currently in the spotlight as Project of the Day, Caldera is an animated short film seeking funds to finish production. Their project video offers a stunning glimpse of a highly imaginative work-in-progress.
