The VIFF has borrowed Karoline Habt from her home in Leipzig, Germany to intern at this year’s festival. With the festival well under way, Karoline takes time from her busy schedule to sit down and chat VIFF with Skewed.

Two Indians Talking | Love Shines
Hi Karoline! So what attracted you to come from Germany to work for VIFF?
In Germany, I am studying cultural and media education. Included in my studies is an internship semester, which we can do anywhere in the world. All I knew was that I wanted to go to Vancouver, and that I wanted to work for a film festival. Et voila, VIFF was perfect for that!

Mouth Open with Fish | Bottom image: detail
We are two.
Somehow we have already lost one set of teeth, our motor skills seem to have gotten worse, our bums are wider, seeing the word COMMA is not uncommon in our daily routine, but my, oh my have our hearts grown twice their normal + recommended sizes, throughout these twenty-four months of INTENSE intensity.
If we are not in love, we are definitely co-dependent. All the artwork that has come our way from over 230+ artists has us on a leash. Of course this ‘complicated status’ relationship gets even more dense when we look at the fact that most of these peeps live and work right in our back yard (literally) and when they do leave the imaginary tree house we keep them in, they infuse the city with their skill. We are so glad to be a part of their conversation with the world, and cannot wait to see what’s next.
And of course, to our lovely readers: THANK YOU guys for keeping us around, telling your friends, letting us live without adds and proving that art still matters, and it kicks ass. We love you long time too, and when the time is right, maybe we will all go for a picnic above the clouds. That will be the day.
But enough of this and that. Salud. Clinkies. And Tweedledumdies from us.
