OH THE HUMANITY AND OTHER GOOD INTENTIONS

“Part of the 2010 Vancouver Fringe Festival, Oh the Humanity! And Other Good Intentions is the Canadian premiere of award winning Will Eno’s latest work. Featuring several Alumni from the University of British Columbia’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program, this series of 5 short plays about the trials of humanity is sure to make you laugh, and then wonder why you’re laughing.”

Directed by Becky Shrimpton, featuring Maryanne Renzetti and Brad Duffy, the show starts Thursday 9 September and goes on until Sunday 19 September 2010, at Carousel Large Studio (1412 Cartwright Street).

THE LITTLE BASTARDS PRESENT | Beyond Therapy

The Little Bastards theatre company presents Christopher Durang’s Beyond Therapy, directed by Anthony Shim. The play started last night and will be playing at Studio 16, every night at 8 pm, until Sunday July 18.

“We’ll be oozing raw passion and grit, and everyone will have a good time, so we hope some theatre virgins can join us and then we’ll have accomplished what we set out to do.” Read more on their Facebook event page

Let the Hussies wash your car on Saturday, July 10, at their Sixth Annual Suds Event. The ladies of Shameless Hussy Productions will be at 4255 Arbutus Street from 11 am till 4 pm. All proceeds go to their future productions!

HIP.BANG! with Recess and The Candelabra Collective

In mid-June, HIP.BANG! is loading up the dream cart and pushing it over to the capital of Alberta to perform as part of Rapid Fire Theatre’s 10th anniversary Improvaganza festival.

Before they go, catch them on the first day of June at the Little Mountain Gallery. Joining them for the night, will be RECESS – a three-piece improv super-troupe – and THE CANDELABRA COLLECTIVE – young heroes of spoken word poetry. All for $5! Tuesday June 1, 2010.

Kickstarter.com allows people to pitch their creative projects and allows friends, fans and total strangers to contribute money and raise funds on the site. Once you’re signed up with a project, you can post a video, photos and/or information to get people excited about your idea. There are lots of great initiatives on the site, as well as successfully funded projects, from those that met their $500 target to others that surpassed their $65,000 goal and raised more than $80,000!
